I don't know if grateful is the word, thankful certainly is it at least not without some degree of shadenfrued.

Yes good things can come of bad things and its good at least something positive may come from negatives. Perhaps if ancestors could know that their suffering would help their children's children it would have helped them to endure - of course that would only be of comfort to those that had children.

I suppose that then blacks in the West should be most grateful that slavery was rooted in Africa before the Europeans arrived so that when certain tribes sold their slaves for western goods it created a demand for more. Without that there wouldn't have been a slave trade at all. Of course slaves in African tribes were more akin to captured enemies like the Native American's used to supplant killed tribal members.

I'm grateful not having to go through that but i wnt give people like that (slave owners) the benifit of the doubt to think they had anything to do with my up bringing and how i turned out

From what I've heard, the African negroes that never left hate the ones that lived in 'white land' as they say it. The same applies to Mexicans, Colombians, and some other countries.

These are the population growth rates. This is taking the death rates AND birth rates into play.

If you don't think Africa is growing, population wise, you are lost.
